Naoshima Half-Day Itinerary

This itinerary is designed for first-time visitors to Naoshima, those with 4–5 hours to spare, or those who want to enjoy the scenery of the Seto Inland Sea. It focuses on the Benesse House area and its surrounding sites.
Naoshima Half-Day Itinerary
(Honmura Area)
This plan is for first-time visitors to Naoshima, those with 4–5 hours to spare, or those interested in the island’s townscape and history. It focuses on the Honmura area.
Naoshima 1-Day Active Itinerary
This itinerary is recommended for first-time visitors to Naoshima as well as those who would like to explore the island actively and visit a wide range of art sites. The morning focuses on the Benesse House area, followed by the Honmura area in the afternoon, allowing you to experience many of Naoshima’s major art facilities.

Naoshima 1 Night / 2 Days – Benesse House Stay Itinerary
Designed for guests staying one night at Benesse House, this itinerary covers many of Naoshima’s major art sites. Day 1 focuses on the Benesse House area, while Day 2 explores the Honmura area.
On the evening of Day 1, guests can enjoy the Benesse House Museum at night and the Hiroshi Sugimoto Gallery: Time Corridors, both open exclusively to Benesse House guests.

Naoshima, Teshima & Inujima 3 Nights / 4 Days – Benesse House Stay Itinerary
Designed for guests staying three nights at Benesse House, this itinerary allows you to explore three islands over four days. Day 1 and Day 4 focus on Naoshima, while Day 2 is spent on Teshima and Day 3 on Inujima, covering many of the major art sites of Benesse Art Site Naoshima.

Spend nearly a full day exploring the Benesse House area on the southern side of Naoshima on foot. This itinerary allows you to discover outdoor artworks that are easy to miss when traveling by bus, while enjoying the island’s beautiful natural scenery that changes each day.
