On January 20, 2026 (Tue.), contemporary artist Yoshihiro Suda, known for "Weeds" at Benesse House Museum and Art House Project "Gokaisho", will unveil a new work, "Rose -- Former Payphone Site", newly installed at Benesse House Museum.
To mark the occasion, Suda will hold a on-site creation of "Weeds", offering visitors a rare opportunity to observe the creation process of his meticulously carved wooden sculptures. A Lunch Talk with the artist will follow, inviting participants to engage in conversation while enjoying a special menu inspired by the artworks.

On-site Creation 9:00-11:50 / 13:30-16:00
Visitors can observe the artist at work as he carves Weeds in wood. The completed piece is scheduled to be installed and displayed later the same day.
No reservation required.
Museum admission to Benesse House Museum is required
Lunch Talk (Japanese Only) 11:50-13:00
Enjoy a talk by Yoshihiro Suda accompanied by a light, one-day-only meal inspired by Weeds and Rose.
The menu includes a sandwich inspired by wild grasses, a petit cake served with rose-flavored cream, and tea.
