Thomas Ruff (born 1958) Germany

Unlike most photographers, Thomas Ruff is an artist who creates his works not only from photographs he has taken himself, but also from existing images obtained from the Internet.
In his "Substrat" series, he repeatedly manipulates images from Japanese manga and anime to reveal the latent shapes and colors of the subjects.
