Notice of Damage to the Outdoor Sculpture "Pumpkin" at Benesse House Museum due to the Proximity of Typhoon No. 9 and Suspension of the Exhibition

We would like to inform you that the outdoor sculpture "Pumpkin" at Benesse House Museum was damaged by the approaching typhoon No. 9 on August 9, 2021, and the artwork has been removed from display and is currently stored in the museum premises. We would like to express our deepest apologies to the artist, Yayoi Kusama, and apologize for the worry and inconvenience this may cause to her fans and the local community, who have watched over the work with great affection. We would also like to ask for your understanding in suspending the exhibition of the works for the time being.
